Oxyfresh Pet Gel — Feature Product Profile

Pet Gel is an extremely versatile topical gel that cleanses, soothes, deodorizes and helps heal irritated, sore or infected tissue on the body or in the mouth. Pet Gel is used clinically in the treatment of periodontal disease, acute moist dermatitis (hot spots), lick granulomas, clipper burns, irritated ears, irritated suture lines and infected or irritated anal glands.

  • In the mouth: apply to gum tissue once or twice daily to control volatile sulfur gases and the harmful end products produced by the bacteria in the oral cavities of pets with gingivitis and periodontal disease. It also cleanses and soothes gum tissue. Our clinic fills every periodontal pocket and every extraction site with pet gel during dentistry. It is also an excellent toothpaste.
  • On Skin Surfaces: Pet Gel can be dispensed for skin infections, hot spots, abrasions, topical treatment of wounds, abscesses, lip fold pyoderma and vulvar fold pyoderma.
  • Home care for teething puppies and kittens: Great for teething.
  • Apply to suture lines to reduce inflammation, and to help promote healing, even in our avian patients since the gel is water soluble.
  • Apply to clipper burns to soothe and reduce inflammation.
  • Spray avian pets twice weekly (1:4 dilution with warm water) to soothe and reduce feather picking.
  • Apply to ears or tails following ear and tail procedures.
  • Favorite application is under a Telfa Pad over major surgical incisions, like Cruciate Repair surgeries and surgical flaps.
  • Use Pet Gel as an alternative to wet saline bandage dressings for clients who cannot return for frequent bandage changes.
  • Pet Gel will dry after each application, except when applied in the mouth. It is safe to be swallowed and can be used in any oral, soft palate, or laryngeal procedure. On the skin surface the previous application should be washed off with a warm wet cloth before the next application is made. This will reduce any buildup of the material or scab in the treatment of hot spots.
  • Hot spot treatment at the lake or cottage can save your clients unnecessary visits to the emergency clinic during the summer months.
  • Human patients (identical gel formulation) have experienced great pain reduction after dental procedures when the gel has been applied. In some cases, better results when using oral systemic pain medication. Unfortunately, our pets can’t tell us how great this gel really is.

Oxyfresh Pet Gel: Ingredients include purified deionized water, Oxygene®, carrageenan, chamomile extract, and aloe vera. It is available in a 4oz. tube, (Stock #405), a 2oz. tube, (Stock #701), and it is now available in our new Mini Pet Oral Hygiene Kits, (Stock #724)
